Police chiefs explain failure of Oplan Linis Probinsya

Bryner L. Diaz - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Ten police station chiefs have submitted their explanation to Cebu Police Provincial Office director Clifford Gairanod in response to their failure to implement Oplan Linis Probinsya last month.

Gairanod received the letters yesterday and warned that he will have the station chiefs relieved if he is not satisfied with their explanation.

He earlier issued an order directing the station chiefs in the province to conduct the Oplan Limpyo Probinsya.

However, the police stations of Alcantara, Ba-rili, Carmen, Compostela, Oslob, Pilar, Ronda, Samboan, Tabuelan, Tudela and Toledo City failed to execute it, he said.

Gairanod said he will look into the letter one by one and  determine  whose explanation is acceptable.

If he is not convinced, he said he will then coordinate with the mayor for their station chief’s relief.

Gairanod said he will also write to Chief Superintendent Manuel Gaerlan, Police Regional Office-7 director, recommending the station chief’s relief.

Aside from this, he will also ask Cebu Provincial Election Supervisor Lionel Marco Castillano for the necessary permits for the transfer of assignment.

Gairanod said another 10 station chiefs are on their way to being relieved from their posts over separate reasons.

The affected station chiefs from the north will be assigned to the south and vice versa, in preparation already for the May 2016 elections, the CPPO director further said. —(FREEMAN)
