What do you mean?
DEAR TITA WITTY,
For my story, there is this guy I like na itago na lang natin sa pangalang Calvin. We work together as graphic designers. We were not always close; it was just really professional. I really admire him for his work ethic, his determination and dedication. Ang daming niyang skills, na tipong pag nawala siya, mapipilayan talaga ang opisina namin. He’s very shy and timid. My officemates are wondering what I see in him, kasi sa totoo lang tita, hindi siya yung type ko, hindi siya kagwapuhan, mas matangkad ako sa kaniya, minsan may B.O. pa siya (which is aminado naman ako na naamoy ko rin) hindi siya yung tipong magugustuhan ng mga babae.
How did it start?
Last year, we had a big charity event. We stayed at the venue, the day before the event, and so it was an all-nighter. At some point I felt sleepy so I borrowed the keys from our company driver so I could sleep in the van. Sumama siya sakin sa van dahil inaantok din daw siya. Pag pasok sa van, doon ako pumwesto sa second row na pang dalawahang tao, at nandun siya sa single seat sa tapat nun. Nagulat ako nung bigla siyang humiga at ginamit na unan yung lap ko. Super kinabahan ako, na kinikilig na di ko maintindihan, so nag react ako, “Ayos ka ah!” sabi ko. Then tahimik lang siya at tumayo, tapos sumandal siya sa kinauupuan niya. Hindi ako nakatulog because I was too self-conscious around him, bumibilis ang tibok ng heart ko *DUB DUB DUB* That was when I realized I felt something for him.
A few months and several all-nighters later, I told him I had a crush on him. He said he thought I was joking. Even though I was fairly serious at the time, he did not believe me. Until eventually I’d notice that he was avoiding me. I was assigned at another office for a time, and when I came back after a few months, biglang lagi nang tumatabi, lagi akong tinitingnan. Even our officemates notice it.
We never talked about personal stuff, usually laging work-related. But lately, he’s been texting me random stuff that’s neither work-related nor personal. Nagugulat ako sa mga ikinikilos niya, as much as I want to, ayokong bigyan ng meaning, pero di ko mapigilan, ano bang nangyayari sa amin. Sabi ng officemates ko, ang lalaki, bago manligaw, nagpaparamdam muna. Manhid daw ba ako kasi di ko napapansin. Ang hirap naman kasi mag assume, hangga’t wala siyang sinasabi, ayokong isipin na may gusto rin siya sa akin. Di ko alam gagawin ko, Paano ba ‘to Tita Witty?
