Peso gains 6 centavos on Monday

MANILA, Philippines - The peso opened the week in the green after gaining 6 centavos against the dollar, closing at 44.83 from the previous day's 44.89.

Total volume transacted at the Philippine Dealing System amounted to $489.8 million, slightly higher than the $489.7 million posted on Friday.

The peso opened Monday at 44.97.
