BPI opens representative office in Roppongi
MANILA, Philippines - The Bank of the Philippine Islands has opened last Oct. 29, a representative office, not a branch, in Roppongi, Japan, contrary to earlier published report on the subject. A representative office does not engage in banking transactions, whether deposit-taking or collecting fees, nor does it accept remittances directly. BPI, through its tie-ups, provides a fast and affordable way of sending money to the Philippines. In Japan, these tie-ups include Japan Remit Finance, Speed Money Transfer Japan K.K. and Unidos Co. Ltd. (Kyodai Remittance) and its global tie-ups, I-Remit and UAE Exchange.
