The flag, not the logo

GILAS. A Cebuano balikbayan from Japan disagrees with the way the Philippines is, according to him, being introduced to the FIBA World Cup audiences worldwide. "Our country is the Philippines not Gilas Pilipinas or just Pilipinas," he said in an e-mail message. "The Philippines is a beautiful name and is not only known but respected world-wide."

LOGO.  This balikbayan said he was mad when he saw the Gilas Pilipinas Logo, not the Phl flag, displayed during the Philippines vs. France tuneup game. "Our country's flag," he said, "must be displayed side by side with the flag of the country we are playing against in the FIBA World Cup."
