For love of Italy
The recent celebration of the 68th Republic Day of Italy was a night filled with merriment as gracious hosts, Italian Ambassador Massimo Roscigno and his lovely and supportive wife, Agnes, welcomed their guest of honor, Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario, as he walked through the doors of the Rigodon Ballroom of The Peninsula Manila.
Together with the charming couple, Italian Embassy First Secretary and Deputy Head of Mission Alfonso Tagliaferri also played host as distinguished members of the diplomatic corps, government officials, business leaders and members of the Italian community arrived at the cocktail reception.
VIP guests were Ambassadors Philip Goldberg of the US, Asif Ahmad of United Kingdom, Thomas Ossowski of Germany and Zhao Jianhua of China, Cabinet Secretary Jose Rene Almendras with his wife Marides, Senators Pia Cayetano, Aquilino Pimentel III and Juan Edgardo Angara, Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez, Dean of Consular Corps George Yang, SGV & Co. founder Washington SyCip, Federal Land Inc. president Alfred Ty with his ever beautiful and supportive wife Cherry, Metrobank Foundation president Chito Sobrepeña and wife Anna, SM Prime Holdings Inc. president Hans Sy and tycoon Antonio Cojuangco, among others.
The sole sponsor of the evening was Ducati Philippines — importer of beautiful and much in-demand Italian-made motorcycles led by its president, Toti Alberto. It was truly a remarkable evening complemented with the finest Italian wines, the most delicious Italian food, the most enjoyable classic Italian music and breathtaking images of Italy on display.
Congratulations on your successful affair, Massimo and Agnes!
