NO-NONSENSE FENG SHUI - Feng Shui Master Aldric Dalumpines - The Freeman

A Fan of Feng Shui for Protection and Luck

Nope you didn't get it right this time! Not a fan as in fanatic follower.

Literally, a fan! In Pilipino, (with Spanish roots), the "abaniko"!

Yes, the thing Maria Clara used during the Spanish colonial times 400 years ago! It's the same thing your lolas and mamas - even lolos and papas - carry around with them, a common sight during Catholic Mass in churches on Sundays or wedding rites.

We also see it used by people in bus terminals - the "paypay" made of either coconut fronds or buri or anahaw leaves. It's also used by street food vendors to sustain the charcoal embers of their young-corn or barbeque grills!

Now in the advent of modern technologies, we are seeing variants of the fan. There's the electric fan, the ceiling fan, and lately, the mist blowing electric fan.

But first things first.

In feng shui, a fan is a symbol of protection and purveyor of good chi, filtering bad chi in an environment to harness the lucky life energies and let them flow healthily and providentially.

Not only in literal presentation in cultural dances and martial arts movies where martial artists use the fan as a symbol of self defense! But more so in Orientalia decor pieces found in living rooms, dining rooms and, most of all, above a bed in the master's bedroom, there's often a big decorative fan spread out like a peacock's tail.

Likewise carrying a personal fan on a hot-weather day balances the heat around you practically protecting you from the negative vibes it brings not only to the body but also the mind!

Thus, fan or fans can be used to remove negative chi or harmful energies in your surroundings: at home, at work or even at play.

It will be prudent in this regard to have a personal fan with you always, either carrying it or have one ever ready in your bag.

So if you want to fan the flames of luck and fortune to come your way, having a fan as a personal feng shui gizmo or a subtle interior or exterior fan design (yes, even business logo like Mandarin Hotel) can serve this purpose in a cool manner!

Fan-tastic idea? Funny but true. Join the feng shui tribe of the Toms, Dicks, and Harrys - plus the Peter Fans! Now you know how to fan your way to success!
