Inaugural Sinulog Men s Open volleyball tourney kicks off today

CEBU, Philippines — A total of 14 teams will vie for top honors as the first ever Sinulog Men s Open Volleyball Tournament kicks off today (Thursday, January 16) at the Cebu City Sports Institute (CCSI) Gym in Barangay Sawang Calero.

The contenders are divided into two brackets of seven teams each.

Reigning CESAFI champions University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters lead the cast of title contenders that also include the Amigos, Atty. Dico, DPWH-VII, 8x8, DH Spikers, Revels, Flying Lemurs, USPH High School, CIT-U Wildcats, Volleyball Assassins, Lowkey Volleyball, CVA and the visiting University of Bohol (UB) spikers.

The tournament is organized by Cebu City Vice Mayor Dondon Hontiveros in partnership with the Sinulog Foundation with Blake Diao as commissioner.

The champion will pocket P100,000 while the second to fourth placers will receive P50,000, P20,000, and P10,000, respectively.
