Panthers, Fighting Maroons collide in CESAFI basketball
CEBU, Philippines — The University of Southern Philippines Foundation (USPF) Panthers and the University of the Philippines (UP) Cebu Fighting Maroons will take on each other in a rare Wednesday schedule of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) Season 24 basketball tournament at the Cebu Coliseum.
USPF aims to improve its 2-4 record when it tackles UP Cebu at 6:45 p.m.
The Fighting Maroons, on the other hand, hope to end their jinx after losing five times in a row since a winning start against the Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U) Wildcats.
In the 5:15 p.m. opener featuring high school teams, the CIT-U Baby Wildcats will clash with the USPF Baby Panthers.
The 5-4 Baby Wildcats are eyeing for a crucial win against the 4-4 Baby Panthers to keep their very slim Final Four chances alive.
