Cebuano champion racer grateful to one of his biggest supporters

CEBU, Philippines — Decorated Cebuano rider Christwil Villanueva recently paid a courtesy call on Tuburan Mayor Aljun Diamante to personally convey his gratitude to one of his biggest benefactors who is a solid driving force in the racing success he achieved this year.

Diamante, through his Tuburan Coffee and Tuburan 360 Resto and Sunset View Deck, backs up Villanueva in all his races this year.

That served as an added motivation for Villanueva to give his best in every competition.

True enough, Villanueva dominated the first three rounds under the 300cc category of the 2024 Petron Pirelli National Motorcycle Racing Championship at the Clark International Speedway in Mabalacat, Pampanga.

A grateful Christwil, together with his father Wilson Bas Villanueva who is also a well known personality in Cebu sports, presented his trophies to Diamante as his expressive way of saying thanks to Tuburan s chief executive for his support.

With 150 points, Villanueva leads the tough battle for the overall crown going into Round 4 of the six-leg contest slated on August 3-4.

A triathlete and basketball varsity player before focusing mainly on the racing scene, Villanueva was among those honored in the 38th Sportswriters Association of Cebu-San Miguel Beer (SAC-SMB) Cebu Sports Awards last May for his outstanding achievement in the field of motorsport.
