Puresteel Batch 2011 completes six-game sweep in SHAABAA Division B

CEBU, Philippines — The Puresteel Manufacturing Corporation Batch 2011 edged  04 For the Win Batch 2004, 52-49, in a battle of unbeaten teams in the Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) Season 27 at the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles Arena in Barangay Canduman, Mandaue City.

Top gunner Bradley Bacaltos came up with another all-around performance, finishing with 17 points, five rebounds, five assists, and three steals as Batch 2011 sealed a six-game elimination round sweep in Division B.

Bernard Chioson added 14 points, eight rebounds, and one assist to help Batch 2011 down Batch 2004 in a close contest that was accounted for six lead changes and five deadlocks.

Franco Augusto Te posted a double-double of 15 points and 16 rebounds while Christopher Consunji and Ervin Lopena connived for 24 points but their efforts went down the drain as Batch 2004 saw its five-game winning streak come to a red stop.

In the other Division B game, Elddie Cabahug fired 35 points on top of six rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block while Aaron Uy tossed in 24 markers as Insular Square Batch 2005 spanked the ZeroNine Batch 2009, 76-69, for its second win in five starts.

In Division C, Jair Igna and Noriko Beneicto scored 16 points apiece as the Cebu Landmasters/CloudKart Batch 2014 pounded the Global Star Motors Batch 2020, 79-44, to end its elimination campaign with a 5-1 record in a tie with defending champion Nest Workspaces Batch 2013.

On the other hand, the GAB Airconditioning Batch 2023 fended off CSAS Batch 2024, 81-76, for its only second victory in six matches.

Sean Gabriel Uribe paced Batch 2023 with 24 points, 21 rebounds, and three steals followed by Kent Jason Dumandan with  22 points, five boards, five assists, and three steals.
