Nalos lifts Dumanjug over Aloguinsan in Cabaron Cup

CEBU, Philippines — Dumanjug banked on the endgame heroics of JR Nalos to drub Alonguisan, 85-75, in the continuing action of the 2nd Mayor Inocentes Cabaron Inter-Town Invitational Basketball Tournament at the Moalboal covered court.

With his side ahead by six points after three quarters, 56-50, Nalos dropped 13 of his game-high 24 points in the final period to vault Dumanjug to a double-digit victory.

Former PBA player Jojo Tangkay dropped 11 of his 21 points in the second frame as Dumanjug opened its campaign in Group A on a high note.

Andre Caminos Cuizon paced Aloguinsan with 20 points, while Reggie Cuerda added 14 markers in a losing effort.

On the other hand, Dalaguete used a balanced attack to pull the rug from under Alcantara, 91-82.

Dalaguete trailed by two at the end of the third period, 62-64, but turned to the hot hands of Ray Alinabon and Raffy Benson to pull away in the closing minutes of the contest.

Alinabon tossed in 13 of his 19 points in the fourth, while Benson netted eight of his 16 points in the decisive rally.

Delgado and George Yongco also made their presence felt with 31 combined points for Dalaguete.

Meanwhile, John Carlo Tejas lifted Ronda to a 96-87 triumph over Malabuyoc.

Tejas dropped 23 points, 10 in the third quarter, while Clarence Raboy chipped in 11 markers for Ronda.

In other result, Jomar Ravanta and Marlou Panugaling connived for 28 points as Barili debuted with an 89-73 trouncing of Boljoon.
