Eric Go tows Lucky Machinery Batch 2001 to CECABA victory
CEBU, Philippines — Team owner Eric Galvin Go stole the show as Lucky Machinery Batch 2001 got off to a bright start with a 65-45 demolition of Chanieka Hardware Batch 2000 in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association’s 17th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup at CEC’s Chiang Kai-shek Gym recently.
Go dropped a game-high 20 points, including 14 in the fourth quarter, to help Batch 2001 seal a 20-point rout of Batch 2000.
He was ably backed up by Aylwin Ong with 16 points and Paul Martin Gabatan, who tossed in 12 of his 13 markers in the final stretch.
Batch 2000 actually had a cold start resulting to an early 7-9 deficit but sprang to life with a 20-7 scoring outburst in the second canto to seize a 27-16 advantage at the break.
Batch 2000 pulled within 32-39 after three quarters but Go and Gabatan connived for 24 points in a decisive 26-13 run at the endgame to propel Batch 2001 to a blowout win.
