Festive atmosphere, prizes galore up for UV Alumni Run
The organizers of the UVAAI Fun Run during their final meeting preparatory for their big event on Sunday, December 3. Present were UVAAI treasurer and Gullas Law School associate dean Atty. Darling Chyrmyth Wagas-Estorgio, UVAAI Internal VP and UV Student Affairs Services director Dr. Ma. Crispy Velasco, athletic director Dr. Chris Mejarito, John Velez, race technical director Priscilliano Capangpangan, and Cebu City Transportation Office (CCTO) representative Ulysses Empic.

The participants will experience a festive atmosphere when they hit the road early morning on Sunday, December 3, for the first ever University of the Visayas Alumni Association, Inc. (UVAAI) Fun Run starting and ending at the UV-Main grounds along Colon Street in Cebu City.

On top of that, cash prizes will be given away to the top performers, while a vast array of raffle prizes are up for grabs for all those who will take part in the run for a cause that features two distances, the 3K and 5K.

There will also be a special award for the Best in Costume.

Moreover, various booths will be displayed wherein everyone could line up to get freebies from event sponsors.

Meanwhile, UV President and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Condrado I igo Jr., UV Chief Academic Officer Dr. Anna Lou Cabuenas, who is also the UVAAI secretary-general, and athletic director Dr. Chris Mejarito will lead around 2,000 runners that will see action in the fundraiser.

Proceeds of the charitable undertaking that also serves as a kick-off activity for UV s 105th founding anniversary next year will be used to support the deserving scholars of UVAAI in achieving their dreams.

It s great motivator for those who will be coming over to make the event more meaningful.
