Dancesport Team Cebu City steals the show in GenSan tilt
CEBU, Philippines — The members of Dancesport Team Cebu City once again performed remarkably on the way to collecting 16 gold, seven silver, and seven bronze medals in the 2nd Philippine Open and 9th General Santos Summer Youth Festival Dancesport Championship held over the weekend at the Lagao Gym in General Santos City.
Francis Dave Sombal and Mitchloni Dinauanao led Dancesport TCC’s hot charge with a total of four golds in the Standard Youth D and C and in the Latin Youth D and C events.
John Lloyd Leyson and Ouie Selene Rendon chipped in a pair of gilts in the Youth A Standard and Latin categories, in the same way with Kharl Michael Miñoza and Ashley Cullo in the Standard and Latin Junior 2A.
John Paul Mocorro and Eleanor Hayco contributed a gold in Latin Senior 2C as well as Shardie Abellana and Marjorie Abellana in Grade B Latin and Jefreyl Palimocon and Mary Ann Mata in ProAm Latin.
It was actually a double-gold for Mata as she also topped the Special Event 1C with partner Lark Jabonero.
The rest of Dancesport TCC’s gold medalists in the one-day dance showdown at the country’s Tuna capital were Ronald Ruiz and Jocelyn Versteeg (Standard Senior 1C), Joel Madera and Engracita Zabala (Standard Senior 2C), Dylan Jacob Esmero and Sofia Isabella Maree Quilaton (Standard Junior 2C), and Michael Angelo and Stephanie Sabalo (Grade A Latin). — EBV
