If US presidents past and present were to play in the Olympics tomorrow, what sports do you think they will be suiting into? I made a research  and came out with these information.  Im also including their BMIs or Body Mass Index, a BMI over 30 indicates a person is obese.

Athletics

JOHN ADAMS (BMI 28.3) walked 5 to 8 kms daily exept when he had a cold, then he walked 16kms.

JOHN QUINCY ADAMS (BMI27.2) walkes several kilometers a day and  would swim  in the Potamac River.

HARRY TRUMAN (BMI 24.66) walked 3 to 4 hours kms daily at the miltary pace of 120 steps per minute.  Truman starts his regimen at 5:30 a.m and ends it with  cooldown exercises, a massage and a glass of bourbon.

THEODEORE ROOSEVELT (BMI 30.2) was America’s only extreme sports president.  His favorite workout was walking in a straight line regardless of obstacles up cliffs over rocks and through icy streams. He also swam nude across the Protomac.

Track and Marathon

JIMMY CARTER (BMI 22:4) was the first true runner in the White House.  He ran 8kms daily and regularly finish his runs less than 50 minutes.

GEORGE BUSH (BMI 24:8) Although known as a runner, he was a one-time captain of the Yale Baseball team.  He tortured the White House press with daily 5 laps runs.  On one occasion, at his vacation home in Kennebunk port, Maine, he led gasping reporters on an 8K run in 59 minutes and 25 seconds.

BILL CLINTON (BMI 28.3) was an 8- minute miler who always snarled traffic  while jogging in the streets of Washington D.C.  Friends solved the problem when they built a quarter mile track oval at the White House grounds. Another favorite place of Clinton was the oval inside the Whitr House especially if a friend named Monica was around.

GEORGE W. BUSH (BMI 25.7) finished the Houston Marathon in 3:44 in 1993.  He became the first  president to complete a road race.

Triple Jump

ABE LINCOLN (BMI 21.7) was the first track jock to become president.  He once leaped 41  feet in the 19th Century version of the triple jump.

Weightlifting

RONALD REAGAN (BMI 24.2) worked out on weights 25 minutes daily.  His White House office included a Universal gym, treadmill, weights and rollers.

THOMAS JEFFERSON (BMI 22.0)

he was skinny but powerful.  He installed a strength-measuring machine at Montecillo and competed  against  younger men.

Equestrian

GEORGE WASHINGTON (BMI 42.3) was the best horsemen of his age.  His remarkabe feat was riding 233 kms from Mt. Vernon to Williamsburg, VA. in a single day.

Golf

WILLIAM HOWARD TAFT (BMI 42.3)

Has 332-pound body,  Taft became the first golfing president. He couldn’t bend over to tee-off.

WOODROW WILSON (BMI 23.5) the Secret Service painted the golf balls red so he coud see them in the snow.  He played 6 days a week badly.

DWIGHT EISENHOWER (BMI 25.3) golfed every other day and did leg lifts.

Swimming

FRANKLIN ROOSVELT (BMI23.6)

Stricken with polio as a young man, he was a strong swimmer.  When war broke out, Roosvelt’s doctors advisd him to quit swimming.  He deteriorated thereafter.

GERARLD FORD (BMI26.2) was the only colegiate, All-American athlete to occupy the Oval Office.

JOHN F. KENNEDY (BMI 22.6) despite a bad back sustained in the war, Kennedy swam half an hour a day followed by stretching.

Bowling

RICHARD NIXON (BMI 23.9) played bowling dressed in shirt and tie and once bowled 20 games in a row in the White House lanes.

Special Exercises

CALVIN COOLIDGE (BMI 21.2) used Indian clubs (similar to bowling pins) for exercise and  had a merchanical horse in the White  House.

HERBERT HOOVER (BMI 27.7) played a new outdoor game called Hoover-ball, a combination of tennis and volleyball.  Players used 6 or 10 pound medicine balls.

In the Philippines the only president who ran a marathon was Fidel V. Ramos.
