Team ADR to stage virtual bike challenge for a cause
CEBU, Philippines — Newbies and veteran pedal-pushers alike have something to look forward to as Team ADR (Any Day Runners) will be spearheading a month-long Virtual Bike Challenge for a noble cause from October 15 to November 15.
"We want to encourage the cyclists especially new commuters and bikers to continue their new-found passion in biking and share their passion to everyone who can ride," said Jez Ramos of the organizing Team ADR.
"Also, we want to keep our fellow cyclists mentally sane amidst this pandemic by doing sports. Lastly, we are doing this for a worthy cause as we will share part of the proceeds to specific areas in need," Ramos added.
Those who are interested to join the charity event, which is open to bikers aged 18 years old and above all over the country, have three distances to choose from: 200km, 400km, and 600km.
Each category must be covered within one month. Participants are required to post their cycling activities and indicate the remaining distance they need to finish. They may use GPS apps or sports watch to record the distance they covered.
Those who will be able to complete the challenge will receive a specially-designed medal, souvenir shirt and e-certificate.
Registration fee is pegged at P600. For further details, one may contact Jez Ramos (0917-6328474) and Dwight Velasco or visit the event's official Facebook page (Team ADR's Virtual Bike Challenge)
