Flying Lemurs, Frontiers cruise to 3-0 starts in E-Leagues
CEBU, Philippines — The Contact Solutions Flying Lemurs and the Kyocera Frontiers blasted separate foes to keep their undefeated records intact in the EVO League of the Tanduay Athletics CSCC E-Leagues for Basketball Season 15 last Saturday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.
Franz Vincent Blanes scored 16 to spearhead the Flying Lemurs’ 26-point blowout of the
CTC-BPO Trojans, 63-37, while Matthew Grafilo led four players in double figures with 17 points as the Frontiers drubbed the Fluor Pandas, 65-54.
Thus, the Flying Lemurs and the Frontiers joined the Tech Mahindra Tech Mighties and the Optum Knights atop the leaderboard with similar 3-0 slates.
The Trojans stayed listless in two starts while the Pandas tasted defeat for the first time after kicking off their campaign with back-to-back wins.
In the other EVO League games, the Dynata Warriors and the Cognizant Tech Solutions Tikas also emerged victorious.
Tommy Spencer Ugsimar scattered 26 points on top of 14 rebounds, five steals and five assists as the Warriors decimated the Iploy Barracudas, 84-49, to raise their win-loss mark to 3-1 while Kimjo Christian Osomo and Frelan Jan Placencia connived for 30 points for the Tikas, who escaped past the Shearwater Health Crusaders, 58-54, to final barge into the win column.
The Barracudas and the Crusaders, on the other hand, both tailspun to 1-3.
In the tough Elite Classic, the Wipro Tigers proved too much for the ePerformax Reds in a duel fo winless squads, 84-55.
Earvin Dennis Ferraren tallied 17 markers while Aaron Suson and Rey Herad Jr. banged in 13 and 10 points, respectively to help the Tigers snap out of their two-game slump.
Robert Gilo dished out 16 points and 10 rebounds, while Francois Bryan Negapatan tossed in 15 points but their efforts went in vain as the Reds suffered their third straight loss. (FREEMAN)
