Deluge of entries for St. Ignatius Run
CEBU, Philippines — It’s all systems go for the annual St. Ignatius Run happening on July 21 at the SM City Cebu grounds.
Organized by Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Alumni Association’s Silver Jubilarians of Batch 1994, the race features 1K kiddie run, 3K, 6K, 12K and 21K.
“It is part of our responsibility to create awareness around for our patron, Saint Ignatius of Loyola that molded us of who we are today,” said Alumni Association Batch 1994 president Stanley Go. “This is our year to give back to the community as well as to the Alma mater.”
The organizers said that over 1,600 runners have already enlisted and they are expecting to reach 3,000 during the race.
Cash prizes and medals are at stake for the top finishers in each category. Exciting raffle prizes from sponsors also await all participants including two high-end watches from Garmin.
Parts of the proceeds will be used in the Alumni Association’s Blue Plate Program, medical missions, book drive and scholarship program. They will also donate to ERUF and Dilaab.
Entry fee is pegged at P250 for 1K, P450 for 3K, P550 for 6K, P650 for 12K, and P750 for 12K. One may register at all Shakey’s branches, The Brown Cup, Velez Pharmacy and Convenience Store and Ateneo de Cebu Alumni office. (FREEMAN)
