Lapiz, Abella top Kapamilya Run
CEBU, Philippines — Florendo Lapiz and Lizane Abella emerged as the biggest winners in the DYAB Kapamilya Run yesterday at the Terraces of Ayala Center Cebu.
Lapiz ruled the 21K men’s race in one hour, 15 minutes and 55 seconds. Joseph Emia settled for second place in one hour and 17 minutes, while Michael Largo wound up third in 1:20:07, clocking.
Jerome Casinillo (1:20:23) and Desederio Engbino (1:25:55) occuped the fourth and fifth spots.
In the distaff side, Abella claimed the crown after reaching the finish line in one hour and 34 minutes while Stephanie Cadosale (1:37:41) and Angel Estillore (1:54:52) claimed the second and third place. Luceta Fernandez (1:55:13) and Janine Camanse (2:01:57) completed the top five placers.
In the 12K action, Kenyan Eric Chepsiror (42:29) and Karen Manayon (54:45) reigned their respective divisions.
Jemar Magdalino (42:56) was Chepsiror’s closest pursuer followed by Kenan Caburnay in the third place with a time of 46:00.
Manayon, for her part, was trailed by Cherry Andrin (57:04) and Mitzie Tejones (58:50) for the second and third place, respectively.
Danny Tigdao and Marielle Estreba lorded it over in the 6K category.
Tigdao clocked in 21:07, while Jaymar Morales (21:14) and Ralph Latigo (21:49) came in second and third place, respectively.
Estreba, meanwhile, won the women’s title with a time of 25:42 followed by Grace Jones (25:49) and Moira Erediano (26:58).
Jovan Besig (9:43) and Giselle Ochiya (13:25) steal part of the limelight after ruling the 3K action. (FREEMAN)
