USC nabs women’s open title in Sinulog bootfest

CEBU, Philippines — The University of San Carlos (USC) lady booters pulled off a thrilling, 1-0, victory over Amigas UTD to clinch the women's open division title of the Sinulog Football Festival yesterday at the Cebu City Sports Center.

Jolina Colon save USC as she delivered the winning goal for her team.

In the Inter-company action, Leylam FC captured the championship trophy with a 2-1 victory over ERCO.

Concentrix, for its part, outlasted Knowles, 2-1, to win the BPO men's class.

In the distaff side, Accenture escaped Lear, 1-0, for the title.

In other games, Giuseppe FC upended Abellana National School, 1-0, to win the boys 15-under championship trophy while  USC-South Campus footballers bested Paref Springdale, 1-0, to snare the boys 18-under title. (FREEMAN)
