3,500 runners already enlist for CCM

CEBU, Philippines — Around 3,500 runners have already registered for the 12th edition of the Cebu City Marathon slated January next year at the Cebu Business Park.

This was confirmed by Kenneth Casquejo of Cebu Executive Runners Club (CERC) and said that they are expecting the numbers to increase when they open another slots for registration before the race day.

Casquejo said they have already closed the registration for the 42K and 21K after they have opened extra 200 slots for each category, as it has been all sold out immediately.

“The 42K and 21K slots are sold out. We will be opening slots for the 5K only during the Race Expo. This is to give way to a lot of visitors who would like join in the festive event which serve as the opening salvo of the Sinulog week,” said Casquejo.

The 5K slots will open for registration during the CM 2019 Race Expo set on January 9 to 12 at the Activezone in Ayala Center Cebu.

Aside from the local and out-of-town participants, foreign runners from 32 different nationalities are also coming over to take part in Cebu’s biggest marathon event. The race is one of the activities in line for the upcoming Sinulog festivities. (FREEMAN)
