PADS lady paddlers top Buglasan dragon boat
CEBU, Philippines — The Philippine Accessible Disability Services (PADS) Inc. Adaptive Dragon Boat Racing Team added feather on their caps after winning the women’s 200m division of the 2nd Buglasan Dragon Boat Festival the other day at the San Jose Boulevard in San Jose, Negros Oriental.
The all-women team of PADS, the country's premier and only cross-disability dragon boat team, clocked in one minute and 11.17 seconds to win the championship.
"The ladies showed that they really wanted the championship. The teams from San Jose and Dumaguete were strong competitors but I am glad that the ladies were able to snatch the victory,” said PADS coach Christian Ian Sy.
Host team San Jose Banatti placed second with a time of 1:12.09 followed by Dumaguete Yello Fins with 1:12.59 clocking.
The fourth and fifth placers were Metro Dumaguete Paddlers (1:12.87) and Cebu Pink Paddlers (1:14.14).
