Springdale advances to quarterfinals unbeaten in Aboitiz bootfest
CEBU, Philippines — Paref-Springdale overpowered Don Bosco Technical College (DBTC)-Team 4, 4-1, to emerge as the elimination round topnotcher in Group C under the unisex 11 category of the 20th Aboitiz Football Cup at its home turf yesterday.
Springdale thus advanced to the quarterfinals unbeaten in four games.
In Group B, Team CCSC made a graceful exit with a 4-1 drubbing of St. Theresa’s College (STC)-A.
On the other hand, DBTC-1 spared no mercy in a 12-0 rout of STC-B, 12-0, to pad its lead in Group A with a 3-0 record. In the same group, Eistein FC finally barged into the win column at the expense of the University San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R), 5-2.
Meanwhile, two championship matches will be played today at the same field.
Accenture, which sports a 3-0 card, and ePerformax, which carries two wins and a draw, will dispute the BPO ladies title at 9:45 am.
At 3 pm, the University of San Carlos will take on 4GP FC for the ladies open crown.
