Cebu Blue Marlins rule Tagbilaran swimfest
CEBU, Philippines - After a long layoff, the Cebu Blue Marlins returned with a bang to dominate the Tagbilaran City Mayor’s Cup Swimfest also known as the 'Saulog Swimming Festival' over the weekend at the city's Carlos P. Garcia Sports Complex.
CBM led by coach Rolado Alvarez reigned supreme in both the competitive and novice division with a total haul of 93 golds, 66 silvers and 51 bronzes.
Michael Ichiro Kong of the University of Cebu again proved his worth in the team after being named as the Most Outstanding swimmer in the boys 18-above class.
The other CBM bets who were named MOS were Shane Allyne Pareja (girls 18), Giovanni Seth Gealon and Karen Mae Indaya (15-17) and Mary Pauline Indaya (girls 9-10).
Joining them in the list of top performers were Tabunoc Elementary School’s Mike Gabrielle de la Serna(9-10), Don Bosco’s Chris Lord Garcia (7-8), UC’s John Irish Benjie Paradero (13-14) and Jyra Ann Marie Paradero (11-12), Guadalupe’s Anneka Marie Asibal (9-10), and CIT-U’s Frances Kelly Sabalones.
The likes of others who contributed Rafael John Dacaldacal, Mika Ella Carredo, Maria Michaella Recilla, Danika Maryl and Rein Ezabella Villano, Kristina Angelika Torres, Micah Marie De La Serna,Martine Samuel Del Rosario, Dionalyn Kate Saraga and Mai Kawabata also contributed to CBM's success.
