Lapu-Lapu sets basketball, volleyball tourneys

CEBU, Philippines - The city government of Lapu-Lapu under the flagship of mayor Paz Radaza will be staging pre-Christmas tournaments for basketball and volleyball starting September 11 at the Hoopsdome in Barangay Gun-ob.

The categories to be contested in basketball are the inter-subdivision, inter-company, seniors and group C. Inter-company and inter-barangay entries are not allowed to play in group C action.

Volleyball, on the other hand, is only an inter-company battle.

Event organizer Norvin Imbong has called for a meeting of teams at 1 p.m. on August 23 at the Hoopsdome to finalize all details of  the sportsfest.

Interested parties have only until August 30 to register.
