Largo, Bunsocan rule Mingla duathlon
CEBU, Philippines - Seasoned runner Michael Largo and Gazelle Bunsocan topped their respective age groups during the Minglanilla Duathlon and Eco Run-2 over the weekend in Tubod, Minglanilla.
In duathlon composed of 5K run, 18K bike and another 5K run, Largo lorded it over the 35-above category with the best time of two hours, 15 minutes and one second.
Ernie Saavedra was a distant second with the time of 2:51:09, while Alex Dalusug wound up third in 3:01:46.
Bunsocan, on the other hand, ruled the 34-below action with a 2:58:11 clocking. He was trailed by Rolando Alcala (3:26:34) as Adrian Montenegro placed third in 3:28:42.
Pamela Ruiz was unopposed in the distaff side, but she made sure she isn't the last one to finish with a time of 3:49:50.
In the 18K trail run, Robie Catat bagged the top spot in the men 's open with the time of 1:11:15 followed by Bernard Sajibuden (1:14:40) and Ogie Villarin (1:31:31).
In the women's open, Leah Marie Gopez reigned supreme in 2:36:11 followed by Leslie Jane Valmores (3:45:46) and Edeneth Intan (3:45:47).
On the other hand, Rene del Corro (26:11) and Artchel Lao (50:06) dominated their respective categories in the 5K battle. — (FREEMAN)
