Legends, Dragons go 7-0 in NABC caging

CEBU, Philippines – Former pro cager Lou Regidor exploded for a tournament-high 46 points as the 1985 Legends slammed the 1992 Little Rascals, 88-66, while the 1993 Dragons literally spewed fire to scorch the 1988 Barakos, 79-66, in the University of San Carlos -NABC Sinulog Cup over the weekend at the USC North Campus gym along General Maxilom Avenue, this city.

The Legends and the Dragons, thus, moved to a tie at first place in Division 1 with identical 7-0 slates.

Regidor got huge support from Virgil Pua with 22 points.

The Dragons, on the other hand, were led by Roy Jumao-as with a game-high 35 markers, while Bong Eleazar and Jade Ylanan chipped in 16 and 11 points, respectively.

Last Friday, the 2008 Fly Boys defeated the much younger 2011 Elevens, 60-55, in Division 3 wherein most of the batches have played either as high school or college varsities.

Reigning Division 2 champion 2001 Dos Mil Uno escaped with an 82-79 win over the 1995 Pirates as they improved their record to 6-2. The Pirates were pushed further to the bottom after dropping seven straight games.

In the other games, the 1988 Sipat skinned the Legendary Lions, 98-43, the 1984 Knights won via forfeiture against the 1991 BAI, while 2014 Underdogs upended the 2006 Fury, 73-66. (FREEMAN)
