All set for JCI's Christmas Run

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - It’s all systems go for the Christmas Run, a running event organized by JCI Cebu-Mactan Channel, Inc., in partnership with Anytime Fitness, this Sunday at the Terraces in Ayala Center Cebu.

The race, which features the 3K, 6K and 12K categories, is a fund-raising event for the ‘Read and Lead’, a literacy program benefiting the Special Education department of Lahug Elementary School.

Organizers of the event are expecting more than 500 participants to join the race.

“Being healthy and fit should be timeless. The Holiday Season should not be an excuse. That’s why our partnership with Anytime Fitness is on point. Fitness should be aimed for anytime,” said Idyll Liza Peroramas, 2015 President of JCI Cebu-Mactan Channel, Inc.

“In 2016, we aim to expand our department beneficiaries within Lahug Elementary School. And if we raise more funds and get more supporters, we hope to launch this program to other schools, too,” Peroramas added.

Registration fee is pegged at P350 for 3K, P450 for 6K and P550 for 12K inclusive of running shirt, santa hat, anytime fitness bandana and freebies from sponsors.

Aside from the fun run, there will also be a fitness festival that will offer a class in Zumba, Punchfit, Functional 50, Body Beats, and Yoga. Crossfit Pintados and Flow Genesis Parkour and Fitness Studio will also hold their classes during the festival.  –Lemuel P. Maglinte (FREEMAN)
