Duron makes waves in ASEAN motorbike series

CEBU, Philippines – Cebuano Jun Duron placed second in the fourth and final leg of the 2015 ASEAN Mountainbike Cup staged in Timor Leste the other day.

The Talisay City-native Duron clocked in 58 minutes and 24.35 seconds, good for a silver finish. Jacinto de Costa of the host country grabbed the gold medal with the best time of 57:24.26.

For the entire series, Duron settled for second overall. Interestingly, he also wound up second in the Timor Leste International Mountainbike Challenge, which was held in conjunction with the ASEAN tiff.

Duron is the only Cebuano rider who completed the four-leg ASEAN Cup. He looks forward to an even more challenging edition of the annual race next year.  (FREEMAN)
