Fusion seizes maiden A+E cage crown

CEBU, Philippines – Team Fusion completed a two-game sweep of Stay Clean in lospided fashion, 82-63, to clinch the first ever championship of the Architects+Engineers Basketball Association's Davies Paints Cup last Sunday at the Cebu Eastern College gym.

Ed Macasling unloaded 26 points, four rebounds and as many steals, while reinforcement Jonas Panerio darted three triples of his 16 points laced with five rebound for Fusion, which sailed smoothly to victory after jumping off to a 22-12 start.

Fusion, manned by licensed Mechanical Engineers, sustained its momentum for the rest of the 40-minute battle on the way to come up with a 19-point  blowout.

Paul Besinga had 21 points, three assists, two rebounds and two steals for Stay Clean, which is composed of professional architects. Michael Vincent Cinco scattered 17 points, five rebounds, two assists and two steals in a losing cause. — EBV (FREEMAN)
