Jaca crumbles again in Japan

Lemuel P. Maglinte - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines – One-time world title challenger Jimrex 'The Executioner' Jaca suffered another crushing defeat via fourth round knockout to former Japanese lightweight champion Akihiro Kondo last Monday night at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.

The 31-year-old Jaca actually dictated the pace of the bout in the earlier rounds, landing sharp jabs and left hooks to the face of Kondo, but the agressive Japanese warrior showed toughness in withstanding Jaca's attack.

In the middle of a heated exchange in round four, Kondo staggered Jaca with a powerful blow. He followed it up with a flurry of head shots that finished off the former OPBF bantamweight champion for good at the 2:45 mark of that round.

Kondo, thus, improved his record to 21-9-1 now spiked with 10KOs, while Jaca absorbed his eighth loss in 50 pro fights dotted with 22KOs.
