Traya batters Wenceslao in ALA- Cobra boxfest
CEBU, Philippines – ALA Boxing Gym mainstay Elmo ‘Bisdak’ Traya (8-1, 6KOs) scored a lopsided unanimous decision victory over journeyman Rodel Wenceslao (8-11, 2KOs) in the main-event of ALA-Cobra Energy Drink ‘Tunay na Lakas Boxing’ fightcard the other night at the Freedom Park in Malaybalay, Bukidnon.
Traya did not fulfill his promise of a knockout, but still made an impression before boxing fans in Bukidnon with his clinical beating on Wenceslao through 10-round battle.
In the supporting main event, Cebuano Jess Rhey ‘Wamah’ Waminal (6-0, 4KOs) kept his unbeaten record intact with a second round stoppage over Rowel ‘Merciless’ Garcia (6-17,1KO) in an eight rounder bout.
In the other feature of the slambang show, unbeaten ALA pug Gerard ‘Gecko’ Suico (4-0, 3KOs) only needed two minutes to disposed General Santos City’s Saddam Barambangan (3-8, 2KOs) via knockout.
In the other results, Melvin Jerusalem kayoed Rodante Suacasa, Jundel Gregorio won via points against Ronald Garcia, Michael Estrella destroyed Jessie Suacasa in the first round as Mardie Muana battered Sonny Basanez in the second round.
