Sorongon, Lee rule TESDA Run

CEBU, Philippines – Prince Joey Lee and Ruffa Sorongon rule their respective categories in the TESDA Run:Dagan Ta, Tabang Ta at the Cebu Business Park yesterday.

It was a tough victory for Lee as he needs to sprint to the finish line to beat Elmer Bartolo. Lee won the 6K men’s open with a time of 20 minutes and 21.80 seconds, followed by Bartolo who was trailing behind him in 20:23.83.

John Darryl Manus settled for third place in 20:36.39.

In the distaff side, Sorongon came out the fastest in the women’s class in 24:51.20 clocking, followed by Cherry Andrin in 27:22.24 as Aubrey Marlit Losanta finished third in 28:42.41.

Lovely Fe Andrin and Robert Daang lorded it over in the 3K run.

Andrin timed 15:36.90 to win the 3K women’s title against Sarah Lee Cuizon (18:00.95) and Grace Garces (20:37.35) who settled for second and third place.

Daang reigned supreme in the men’s bracket with the time of 12:24.77. Michael Largo wound up second in 12:25.99, while Azlan Pagay occupied the third place in 12:27.36.

The race is a fund raising event for the benefit of the scholars of Technical Education and Skills Development Authority. — (FREEMAN)
