Rapid Chess Club to stage open tourney

CEBU, Philippines - Cebuano pawnpushers, rated or not, will have another chance to showcase their skills through the Rapid Chess Club Open Tournament this weekend at the E-Mall Activity Center.

The two-day tilt follows a 7-round Swiss system format. The champion will pocket P2,500 courtesy of Jolito Posas, while the second and third placers will receive a cash prize of P1,500 and P500, respectively, donated by Oscar Abangan.

The fourth to 10th finishers will get a consolation of P150 each.

Entry fee is pegged at P100. The organizers will be accepting on-site registration.
