16th Sinulog Open bowlfest set Jan. 19-25

CEBU, Philippines -  The 16th edition of the annual Sinulog Open National Bowling Tournament will take place from January 19 to 25 at the Gaisano Bowlingplex in Barangay Banilad, this city.

The categories to be contested are the singles, doubles and team plus the masters event.

Each team may be composed of three bowlers with any combination, a male and two female or otherwise. To qualify for the masters, a bowler should compete in all events.

The masters event will be composed of the top 48 bowlers after the six qualifying games played including two games in the team, doubles and singles. They will clash in a 10-game series.

 The organizing Bowlingplex Tenpin Association (BTA) will be giving away cash prizes to the top three placers in the team, doubles, singles and all-events as well as the top nine in the masters class.

 Special prizes will be handed out to the top three senior citizens, top three ladies, and the highest single scratch game for both male and female participants. The highest single scratch will be based from the qualifying games.

A P50,000 bounty is also up for grabs for the bowler with a perfect game. In case there will be more than one bowler who score a perfect game, the award shall be shared proportionally based on the number of perfect games posted. (FREEMAN)
