Chiongbian rolls Cebu City to golden start in Batang Pinoy National Finals
CEBU, Philippines – Yuan Chiongbian kicked off Cebu City's bid with a golden performance in triathlon event of the 2014 Philippine Youth Games- Batang Pinoy National Finals yesterday at the Panaad Stadium in Bacolod City.
More to it, Chiongbian along with fellow TCC bets Ralph Edward "Raffy" So and Aaliyah Ricci Mataragnon have also been named to the national youth team for 2015 after they made it to the top 5.
Chiongbian, who only settled for silver last year, bounced back with aplomb to snare gold this time in the boys division. He completed the grueling race that covers 400m swim, 12K bike and 2.5K run with the best time of 30 minutes and 46 seconds. Bam Manglicmor finished second with the time of 31.19 followed by Antonio Alejo in 32:21.
In the distaff side, Nicole Daniel Eijansantos defended her crown with a 33:53 clocking. Lorraine Justin Plaza settled for silver with a time of 35mins-flat as Veronica Lourds Deldio got the bronze medal in 35:15. (FREEMAN)
