All set for Historic Resort City Marathon

CEBU, Philippines- Lapu-Lapu City aims to hit two birds with one stone in their first Historic Resort City Marathon slated on November 30 starting and ending at the Lapu-Lapu City Hall grounds.

Aside from being an event for fitness, Lapu-Lapu City government also wants to use the marathon as a way to promote the city’s branding name and logo for global prominence being a city with beautiful beaches and resorts together with its historical richness.

Lapu-lapu City wants its identity promoted further as runners wears its brand colors in its jersey and race bibs.

Aside from the lung-busting 42K category, the race will also feature the 21K half marathon, 10K, 5K and 3K fun run.

The event is also a fund-raising activity for the benefit of the tourists’ police in the city. The proceeds will be used to provide them with new motorcycles and bicycles to be used for quick response and assistance to tourists.

The event kicks off midnight so the race can finish early and the participants can still enjoy going out to the beach with their family and friends after.

Entry fee is pegged at P1,200 for the 42K, P900 for 21K, P550 for 10K, P450 for 5K and P350 for 3K inclusive of singlet, race bib, post race refreshments, loot bag and a finisher’s medal.

Cash prizes and other exciting prizes also await the top performers of the event.
