USC spikers sweep secondary volleyball crowns
CEBU, Philippines - The University of San Carlos Spiking Warriors swept the secondary titles in volleyball event of the 2014 Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Incorporated season at the Aznar Coliseum yesterday.
In the boys division, USC completed a two-game sweep of the University of Southern Philippnes Foundation in their best-of-three finals ancxhored on a decisive , 25-19, 25-21, 25-20 win in Game 2 to successfully defend their title.
The USC spikers of coach Junrey Sasing now train their sights to representing the Queen City of the South in the regional eliminations of the Batang Pinoy in Iloilo this week.
In the battle for third place, the University of San Jose-Recoletos prevailed over the Don Bosco Technology Center, 25-15, 25-19.
The Carolinians were equally-impressive in the girls category as they dethroned Southwestern University in a thrilling four-setter, 21-25, 25-14, 25-22, 25-19.
USJ-R, on the other hand, claimed another third place honors after its secondary girls squad blasted USPF in straight sets 25-22, 25-15. (FREEMAN)
