Singwangcha fighters take centerstage: “Pinaksitay sa Talisay” tonight
CEBU, Philippines - Cebuano boxing aficionados will be treated to another action-packed show as five Singwangcha ring gladiators take centerstage in the "Pinaksitay sa Talisay" fightcard that will start at 7:00 tonight at the Talisay City Sports Complex.
Aguelo A. Singwangcha of Maasin City will headline the 10-bout extravaganza as he battles Bonnie Makiling of Bukidnon in a 12-round brawl for the Asian Boxing Federation super featherweight title.
The 26-year-old Aguelo (21-10-2, 13KOs) hopes to redeem lost pride after losing by unanimous verdict to Mexican Sergio Thompson last August 8 in Chetumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico.
For his part, Makiling will try to sustain his momentum coming off a masterful third round stoppage of Rege Pahayag July 27 at the Agoho Tiger Boxing Club in Mambajao, Camiguin.
Four other prized wards of revered Thai boxing patron Naris Singwangcha will strut their punching wares in the slambang event co-presented by Cebuano topnotch promoter Rex "Wakee" Salud and the Talisay City Sports Commission.
Canoy J. Singwangcha of General Santos City will lock up horns with Ryan Bahala of Davao City, Boyose A. Singwangcha of Cebu City will square off against Jaime Barcelona of Bukidnon, Valero G. Singwangcha of Mandaue will trade fistic bombs with Arlon Batingal of Compostela Valley, while Tabanao J. Singwangcha of Panabo City will face off with Jhoas Aparecio of Bukidnon.
Aside from three curtain-raisers, the other feature to watch out for is the featherweight battle between Recky Dulay of Yolly Alfante Stable and Anthony Sabalde of Cebu. — EBV (FREEMAN)
