Bigger cash bounty at stake for winner in Sogod triathlon

CEBU, Philippines - The municipality of Sogod under the flagship of Mayor Moonyeen Durano-Streegan has increased the cash prizes for the fourth edition of their annual triathlon race scheduled this Sunday at the Alegre Beach Resort.

The overall champion in the men and women's division will both receive P7,000, while the second and third will pocket P5,000 and P3,000, respectively.

The event features a sprint and mini-sprint distances. The sprint action covering a one-kilometer swim, 30K bike and 7.5K run, while the mini-sprint is intended for triathletes 13-15 and 16-above age groups.

Registration fee is pegged at P800 inclusive of an event shirt and brunch. Entry forms are available at Rudy Project Concept Stores in Ayala and SM, Speedo Ayala and SM, and The Brick Tri Shop.

Gift certificates for an overnight stay at Alegre Beach Resort and Spa and other items will be raffled off during the awarding ceremony. — (FREEMAN)
