Lexmark, Convergys 2 crush rivals in CSCC E-League

MANILA, Philippines - The Lexmark Stallions and Convergys 2 Blue Devils crushed separate foes in the continuing action of the 10th CSCC E-League men's basketball tournament last Sunday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym. Lexmark hammered the Job Target Bandits, 83-33, while Convergys 2 whipped the Microsourcing Bullies, 75-28.

Sylvester Millevo readily made an impression in his debut with Lexmark after finishing with 23 points on top of six steals, four rebounds and three assists.

Niel Tiempo added 22 points, four rebounds, three steals and two assists for Lexmark, which held off Job Target to only four points in the first quarter while scoring 28 to stoke the early offensive fire.

Lexmark further battered Job Target in the third period, 23-2, on the way to come up with an eye-popping 50- point demolition.

Christian Decatoria was the lone bright spot for Job Target with 12 points, four steals, three assists and two rebounds.

Convergys 2 was similarly explosive in its 47-point blowout of Microsourcing. After closing the first half with a commanding 39-18 lead, the Blue Devils continued to pounce on the Bullies in the third, 16-6, then wrapped up the one-sided match with a 20-4 spurt.

Roderick Mangubat and Melvin Polestico led Convergys 2's balanced attack with 10 points each. Evan Michael Perez paced Microsourcing with 16 points.

In the other games, Joey Mari de Guzman and Floyd Dean Singco fired 11 markers apiece as the ePerformax Reds bested the Sykes Pioneers, 58-46, while Martin Ian de Guzman nailed 19 markers on top of two steals and two assists to power the ASI Hardbacks to a 64-57 victory over the Teletech Titans.— EBV (FREEMAN)
