Bogo chess set this weekend
CEBU, Philippines - It's green and go for the 7th Mayor Celestino E. Martinez, Jr. Open Chess Tournament this weekend at the Bogo City Plaza.
Over P20,000 in cash will be given away to the top performers of the 7-round Swiss system competition.
The champion in the open category will receive P5,000, while the second and third will get P3,000 and P1,000, respectively. The fourth will earn P500, while the fifth to 10th place will take home a consolation prize of P300 each.
The top three finishers among Bogo residents will pocket P3,000, P2,000 and P1,000. The top three kiddie and female players will have a bonus of P500, P300 and P200.
Entry fee is pegged at P200, but residents of Cebu's Fourth District will enjoy a 50 percent discount.
