MS Motosuit Motocross TV airs over CCTN 47 this Saturday
CEBU, Philippines - The pilot episode of the MS Motosuit Motocross TV will be telecast over CCTN 47 this Saturday from 10:30 to 11 a.m., with replays every Sunday from 10:30 to 11 o'clock in the evening.
The half-hour show features the humble beginnings of Cebu Motocross, starting off with the Ornopia Cup in Calambua, San Remigio nearly two decades ago until it evolved into a well-established competition now known as the MS Motosuit Motocross Series.
Hosted by the ageless Pepo Rubi, the revered "King of Cebu Motocross, and MS Motosuit operations officer Ramil V. Ayuman, the television special also includes some highlights of MS Motosuit's most latest action held in Calambua last April 13. The event, participated in by close to a hundred daredevils from all over the country. also served as comeback race of its annual series.
"Having a television show entails a lot of effort, but we strongly pushed for it as part of our massive buildup to promote motocross across the archipelago. We want the people from other parts of the country to appeciate not only the talents of our riders of world-class caliber, but also the beauty of this sport," said MS Motosuit big boss Lou Ornopia.
For Ornopia, partnering with the CCTN Channel 47 is a perfect move as the Archdiocese of Cebu-owned broadcast television network founded by Nonito "Dodong" Limchua has wide coverage being connected with several cable TV stations and has affiliates not only in Cebu and in Central Visayas but across the Philippines.
"I hope with this kind of TV show, we could help propagate the gospel of motocross all over the country," said Ornopia, a one-time Sportsman of the Year awardee by the prestigious Sportswriters Association of Cebu. "And we're very thankful to CCTN 47 for this opportunity to be in the long-list of their notable programs."
Meanwhile, Ornopia is gearing up for the second leg of his comeback event this June. He went out of the motocross scene for a year, but shot back to the limelight last month due to his flaming passion for the sport coupled with strong public clamor.
For his calendar of activities this year, Ornopia has scheduled a total of six legs spread in different areas of the province. All races under the MS Motosuit Series will be broadcast over CCTN. (FREEMAN)
