Donayre hurdles MMA acid test in Dubai

CEBU, Philippines -  Dubai-based Cebuano mixed martial artist Vaughn ‘Spawn’ Donayre made a successful debut abroad courtesy of a unanimous decision victory over Mohamed Isaef in the 'Hard Knox Fight Night' card last Saturday at the Du Forum in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. 

Donayre showed excellent ground control laced with sharp striking to outpoint Dubai's hometown hero, who was bloodied in the face after receiving heavy blows from the pride of  Yaw-Yan Cebu ArDigma in their three-round battle.

It was Donayre’s seventh straight victory in as many starts. He was actually primed for a title shot in the Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) lightweight division here in his homeland, but opted for a bigger break in the oil-rich emirate where he also serves as an MMA instructor.
