Monjas, Ramirez rule Mano AmonRun
CEBU, Philippines - Bonifacio Monjas and Mereeis Ramirez emerged as the biggest winners in the 35th edition of ‘Halad kang Mano Amon Run’ yesterday morning in Danao City.
Monjas who topped the recent Philippine Red Cross Marathon for Humanity, bagged the 12K men’s crown after completing the race in 44 minutes and 14 seconds. Desiderio Engbino placed second with the time of 46:14, followed by Jeboy Magbologtong with a 47:43 clocking.
In the women’s side, Ramirez took the top honors with 54:44 clocking. Aubrey Lusanta placed second with the time of 1:00:54, while Nora Villamor settled for third with 1:01:40.
On the other hand, Enrique Mangas (24:48) and Regie Magbologtong (25:05) had a 1-2 finish in the 6K all-Danao City residents. Rodolfo Mediquillo placed third with 25:42 clocking.
Era Villacorta dominated the women’s class with a time of 35:10, followed by Josephine Damico (37:50) in the second place.
In the 6K high school category, Kim Guiao (25:59), Jay Villahermosa (26:47) was the top placers together with Rhena Rose Curaza (30:31) and Jessil Mae Gomez (32:08) in the girl’s division. John Noah Mapah and April Joy Batuto emerged as the fastest in the 3K elementary division. (FREEMAN)
