Petronas-Mackyworx ends year with a bang

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Team Petronas Mackyworx Motoworld had a very dramatic 2013 season in the Regional Underbone Grand Prix (RUGP) Series. It had a slow start as its riders were still adjusting to each other, but in the middle part of the year they began to climb up their way to the championship points both in the individual and team standings.

The absence of some riders like Redoble, Duranggo, Axl Teves and Enzo Teves during the finals really affected their performance, according to team manager Niño Macapaz.  Nevertheless, some riders also performed surprisingly well to cover up the slack.

Petronas-Mackyworx's top bet Vingie Coloma, who is also a sponsored by Yamaha Philippines, was crowned as the 2013 Rider of the Year.  Before the final leg, Coloma was 19 points behind by early leader Ernie Daguio, Jr.  Hence, he had to give all he got just to snatch the title.

Blendell Sanico, Rommel Paz, Fitz Gerald Sangual, Juniel Intas and the team’s new rider for 2014 Carlo Rangas and John Anthony Rasula also gave their best shot to lift the team’s points.

Conciso “Raceling” Cañeda, Jr. admitted that he really had a hard time maintaining 13 race bikes and keeping them in the top shape all the time.  Still, he is thankful that all the motorcycles are mostly seen in front of the races.  The team's successful campaign was made possible through the support of Petronas Lubricants Phils., Yamaha Phils., Suzuki Phils., Motoworld, LS2 Helmets, TCX racing accessories, MTRT performance parts, NCX performance pipes, MS Motosuit, Izumi Motorcycle parts and accessories, and Dan’s Bike Shop for the FOX shocks.  (FREEMAN)
