Alphans spearhead ‘Run for Yolanda victims’

CEBU, Philippines - The Alpha Sigma Phi Philippines International Collegiate Service Organization Inc. will stage another charity running event in the staging of the Alphan’s ‘Run for Yolanda victims’ on December 15 at the Terraces grounds of Ayala Center Cebu.

The race, which features the 3K, 6K and 12K categories,is a fund-raising event for the benefit some of the victims of super typhoon ‘Yolanda’ in Tacloban and in Maya Bagay, located in the northern part of Cebu.

“Our fraternity was one of the organizations who immediately responded after the calamities that hits Visayas,” said Alpha Sigma Phi Board of Director for Visayas Antonio Tompar in a press conference yesterday at the City Sports Club-Cebu.

“This time we want to gather more funds for our goal in helping some families and Tacloban and Maya Bagay in rebuilding their homes. We will use the funds in buying tents, water containers and some construction materials.”

Over P25,000 in cash prize and specially designed medals will be given away to the top performers in each category.

Registration fee is pegged at P400 for the 12K, P350 for the 6K and P300 for 3K inclusive of a singlet and post-race refreshments.

Entry forms are available at Mariners Court Cebu, Cebu City Sports Center and Runnr in Ayala Active Zone.  (FREEMAN)
