2nd leg of 4Cents Strike chessfest set Dec. 14-15

CEBU, Philippines -  Cebuano pawnpushers, young and old alike, will once again test each other's skills through the Four Central Squares (4Cents) 2nd Strike Open Chess Tournament slated on December 14-15 at Robinsons Fuente Event Center. 

The first day of competition is for the kiddies division (players aged 14 years old and below), while the open category will be contested the following day.

The National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP)-rated tournament follows a 7-round Swiss system format using game point scoring system.

The champion in the open division will take home P4,000, while the second to fourth will pocket P3,000, P2,000, and P1,000, respectively. The sixth to 10th will receive a consolation prize of P500 each as well as the top female entry.

The top performer in the kiddies class, on the other hand, will get P3,000, while the second and third will take P2,000 and P1,000. The fourth to fifth will get P500 apiece and the sixth to 10th P300. The best finisher among female participants will enjoy a bonus of P500.

Registration fee is pegged at P150 for the kiddies and P200 for the open.
