Cebu Blue Marlins sparkle in G-League swimming tilt
CEBU, Philippines - The lean but mean Cebu Blue Marlins hauled 36 golds, 13 silvers and 14 bronzes in the G-League Long Course Swimming Championship at the Lorenzo G.Teves Memorial Aqua Center in Dumaguete City the other day.
The promising tankers from the University of Cebu delivered most of the goods for CBM led by Shanne Allyne Pareja with five golds via the 400m IM, 800m freestyle, 100m breaststroke, 50m backstroke and 100m butterfly.
Michael Ichiro Kong handed over three gilts through the 50meter backstroke, 100m backstroke, and the 400m individual medley, while Karen Mae Indaya came up with a golden double in the 400m IM and 800m freestyle. Emma Alexandrite Duroy was the other UC bet to snatch gold in the 100m butterfly.
Val Tiu from Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu also made a huge impact after fishing out four golds in the 50m backstroke, 100m butterfly, 400m individual medley relay and 100m breaststroke. His teammate Aaron Grant Embuscado contributed two bronzes.
Jehaosh Reign Garrido of Bright Academy grabbed three golds through the 50m backstroke, 100m butterfly and 100m breast stroke.
Garrido's sibling Justine Reign from St.Theresa's College's also went home with a gold from the 100m breast stroke plus a silver and two bronzes.
Tabunok Central School's Micah Marie de la Serna made her presence felt with a gold from the 800m freestyle spiced up with a silver and two bronzes. (FREEMAN)
